Earls River Enhancement

We have successfully enhanced the Earls river section to improve habitat for the fish and invertebrates.

Thanks goes to the Club, Malcolm Finney (for his help) and DCAL (for the stones and workers) for making this all happen.

NIEA Grant Awarded

A small NIEA grant has been awarded to Enniskillen Angling Club to subsidise work on the Earls River Restoration Project.

Dr Eileen Mallon is overseeing the work and we are working with Greg Hood (DCAL) and Paul Kearney (EMEC).

We are currently trying to start work on the project and will report as things happen but weather is hampering things.

Hello,

We are a small fishing club based on the Shore road. We have a few members that actually fish on a good day, but most only dream about the wet and cold days!

Lough Erne is not an easy lough to catch fish in. If you have been fishing stocked lakes the size usually restricts fish movement. In Lough Erne fish can move in 3 dimensions to get out of your way or locate food.

Early months fish best on Lough Erne whether you spin, troll or fly-fish. Large fish have been take in recent years early on and there is a 6 lb fish taken last year on the front page show.
